Marco Reus and co. are leading the domestic league by four points ahead of both Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayern Munich, while they are sitting at the top of Group A in the Champions, 3 points adrift of their hosts Atletico.
Also, a win for the German team will see them qualify for the knockout stage as a group leader, while a draw at Wanda Metropolitano will at least guarantee them a 2nd place finish in the group.
