The first unofficial Test did not produce any result as the match ended in a pulsating draw. Pakistan-A opener Shan Masood got centuries in both innings of the match (167 and 100), but Will Young’s unbeaten 74 and BJ Watling’s unbeaten 47 helped the visitors to sneak past Pakistan-A for a draw.

Ajaz Patel and Tim Seifert were earlier withdrawn from New Zealand A squad after they were named in Blackcaps’ squad. Neil Wagner was expected to join New Zealand A squad for the second unofficial Test. However, there is no report confirming his availability for this one.
